Young Latvian professionals going to the biggest skills competition WorldSkills 2017


Today the Latvian national team accompanied by the State Education Development Agency (VIAA) left for the biggest global vocational education and skills excellence competition WorldSkills 2017. The competition will take place in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, from the 14th to the 19th October, and during the four days eight young professionals from Latvia will present their skills in competition among 58 countries.

In selection competitions the State Education Development Agency (VIAA) has found the eight most skilful young professionals who will represent Latvia at the competition WorldSkills 2017 which is currently the largest vocational skills competition for young professionals in the world and will be held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, from October 14 to 19.

Study visit about effective school management


From October 9-13, 2017 the Latvian National Agency for Erasmus+ organizes a transnational thematic activity – a study visit “Effective school management, e.g. cooperation with local and national authorities, inclusion practices for minorities etc. in school and VET education”. The study visit is organised within transnational cooperation activities between Erasmus+ National agencies.

Results of the Latvian State scholarship for studies and research 2017/2018


State Education and Development Agency (SEDA) informs that application round for Latvian State scholarship competition for studies and research for the academic year 2017/2018 is completed and that evaluation committee, comprised of representatives from the SEDA, Ministry of Education and Science of Latvia and Student Union of Latvia finished evaluation of the applications.

Interest from foreign students about the Latvian State scholarships have grown rapidly


This year significantly have increased the number of applications received in the State Education Development Agency (SEDA) for Latvian Sate scholarships. In comparison with the previous year, when the agency received 162 applications, the interest is almost doubled, reaching 316 applications.
