Results of the Latvian State scholarship for studies and research 2017/2018


State Education and Development Agency (SEDA) informs that application round for Latvian State scholarship competition for studies and research for the academic year 2017/2018 is completed and that evaluation committee, comprised of representatives from the SEDA, Ministry of Education and Science of Latvia and Student Union of Latvia finished evaluation of the applications.

Interest from foreign students about the Latvian State scholarships have grown rapidly


This year significantly have increased the number of applications received in the State Education Development Agency (SEDA) for Latvian Sate scholarships. In comparison with the previous year, when the agency received 162 applications, the interest is almost doubled, reaching 316 applications.

On March 23, 2017 the Latvian National agency for Erasmus+ is organising a transnational thematic seminar “Erasmus+ developing e-skills for jobs”. The seminar is organised within transnational cooperation activities between Erasmus+ National agencies and will contribute to the range of events in Latvia within Get Online Week 2017 and is linked to the 30th anniversary of the Erasmus+ programme.

Discussion with policy makers – approaches on ECVET implementation


State Education Development Agency (VIAA) on 28 October, 2016 organised discussion for policy makers on ECVET (European Credit System for Vocational Education & Training (VET)) implementation approaches comprising so essential aspects as ECVET development tendencies in Europe, already achieved in Latvia, discussing further challenges. ECVET implementation approaches were looked at also from perspective of director of VET institution and employer.
