Nordic Languages Programme

Nordplus Nordic Languages has two guiding objectives; to support activities that improve language comprehension of the Nordic languages, primarily Danish, Norwegian and Swedish, among young people, as well as developing materials, methods and strategies for improving comprehension of the Nordic languages on all levels within the educational systems.

Who can apply?

The programme is aimed at institutions in all sectors, organisations and private sector in the participating countries that focus mainly on education and lifelong learning. It is open to both the Nordic and Baltic countries and an application must represent at least 3 different participating countries/areas, i.e. 1 coordinating institution/organization and at least 2 collaborators.

Cooperation to promote the use of Nordic languages among children and youth is a priority in the programme.

What can you apply for?

Support can be granted to establish networks including parties in the language area, or to various project activities within the language area.
Examples of activities receiving support are; development of methods for including neighbour language learning in schools, cooperation on development of school curricula concerning the position of the Nordic languages in the school systems, projects on information to the general population, research projects, conferences/seminars, dictionary and terminology projects, publications, language technology projects, development and publication of educational aid and teaching materials and development projects and other activities focusing on the development and improvement of pedagogical and didactic methods.
