WorldSkills 2022 special edition

WorldSkills is preparing a unique format for international skill competitions in 2022, showcasing 61 skills in 15 different countries and regions around the world from September 7 to November 26. WorldSkills Competition 2022 Special Edition (WSC2022SE) is the official replacement for WorldSkills Shanghai 2022, cancelled in May due to the pandemic. Over 1,000 Competitors from 58 countries and regions will participate in WorldSkills Competition 2022 Special Edition. 

The countries and regions hosting skill competitions for WorldSkills Competition 2022 Special Edition are: Austria, Canada, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, Luxembourg, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States of America. Latvia team plan to participate at 9 skill competitions.

The WorldSkills competition of young professionals is a biannual event and alternates with the European scale professional skills competition EuroSkills. The Latvian team participated in the competition WorldSkills for the first time in 2011.

Participation of the Latvian team in WorldSkills 2022 competition takes place within the project “Career support at general and vocational education establishments” financed by the European Social Fund and co-financed by the Latvian state.
